#1 MMORPG Browser Game in 2015: Dofus
Dofus was first released in 2004, and still has a very active community to date. That says a lot about an 11 (!) year old game.
It’s a flash based browser MMORPG, with a total player base of over 25 million players.
The premise is very straightforward: you control a 2D style hero – which you can choose out of 16 classes – and you gain experience by completing quests and defeating monsters in the realm known as “The World of Twelve”.
Combat is quite unique. Whenever you have an enemy encounter, you are transported to another region. Here, you and your foe take turns. You will have to manage you Movement Points and Action Points, to beat your adversary with spells and swings of your sword.
The game is extremely easy to pick up and play. Anyone can give it a whirl, since it’s a browser game, and there’s a free trail to enter the starter areas.
On top of the awesome gameplay, the design is absolutely stunning. Dofus has a very unique graphical style, which doesn’t require a lot of performance power, but looks great. This assures you won’t get bored of the scenery when you go through the 200 levels you can attain.
I have heard some minor complaints, that character control is indirect. Some people found this a bit weird, and it turned them off at first. If this is a problem for you, I’d suggest to stick with it, you’ll get used to it quickly enough!
Check out dofus at the official website, and start playing right away! It’s a small game with a big internet footprint, a large community, compelling gameplay, and sweet sweet graphics!
